• 40 Semifinalist Prizes: Each semifinalist will receive a $100 check, a recognition certificate and an-SWEEEP Tee-shirt. In addition, his/her school will win a plaque for his/her Middle School.
• Honorable Mention Prize: After the Semifinalist prize winners have been determined, up to the next forty (40) highest scoring entries will be awarded an Honorable Mention prize, to be chosen by the Cosmos Foundation. Each Honorable Mention recipient will receive a recognition certificate.
• 10 Finalist Prizes: All 10 finalists shall win the following: 
  • 5 day / 4 night trip to Houston, TX to participate in I-SWEEEP 2012 where they will have the opportunity to meet other participating top young scientists all around the world. The finalists will compete for the Grand prize during I-SWEEEP. The prize includes hotel accommodations for 4 nights for the finalist and his/her parent or legal guardian (one standard double occupancy) at a hotel selected by the Cosmos Foundation between May 3 and May 7, 2012. The prize also includes roundtrip coach airfare for finalist student and his/her parent /guardian from a major airport nearest the finalist home, field trip expenses during the event, and meals. The meals shall consist of 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch (on judging day) and 4 dinners. Gratuities and incidental expenses are not included. The parent/legal guardian of winner is responsible for any travel insurance. Finalist and parent / guardian must travel together on the same itinerary. If finalist resides in Texas, air fare will not be covered.

• Grand Prize: The Grand Prize winner will receive the following:

    • * To clarify, the Grand Prize winner will receive all of the finalist’s prizes, except for the $500.00 check; instead he/she will win $2,000 cash award.

The semifinalists and finalists will be notified by email (as provided on the Registration Page). Upon being selected, the finalists must submit Media Release, The Code of Conduct &legal Disclaimer, and W-9 forms before the contest. Failure to complete and return the properly signed forms on time or declining a prize for any reason, or failure to comply with any requirement of the official rules may result in the prize being forfeited. Return of any prize/ or the prize is undeliverable, or inability of Cosmos Foundation’s staff to contact finalist(s), may result in disqualification. The parents/guardians of each finalist must agree that their child, as a finalist, will participate in all advertising, publicity (including live and taped television appearances), press, and promotional events scheduled by Cosmos Foundation  in connection with the contest during the I-SWEEEP event. Failure to participate in these events may result in disqualification and forfeiture of prizes.
