All entries will first be screened to ensure they meet the entry requirements. A panel of judges including the members of Cosmos Foundation, educators, and science professionals will score the qualifying entries. Each 3E category will be weighed equally. Both the science component and the quality of the presentation are critical. Scores will be given according to the following criteria:

 

The judges will rank the entries according to overall score. The top 40 projects will be considered as a semifinalists, and out of 40 semifinalists, the ten (10) with the highest scores will be selected as finalists to compete for the Grand Prize during International I-SWEEEP Science Fair in Houston. In the event of any ties, the overall slide show presentation score will be used as tiebreaker. Semifinalists's list will be posted in our website on March 8, 2012. Finalists will be announced by March 15, 2012.

 

During the I-SWEEEP fair in May 2012, the finalists will compete for the Grand prize. The finalists will prepare a display to communicate their work to a panel of judges and the public. I-SWEEEP will provide a booth that includes a skirted table, 2 chairs, and a waste basket. The finalists will be judged on their communication and scientific problem solving skills. The finalists are expected to prepare a 10-min presentation for judges.
